How to Develop Plan B – Supervisor Webinar

10:30 AM - 12:00 PM, Monday 29 June 2020

This webinar will provide an overview for supervisors of the methods, tools and approaches used in ‘how to develop Plan B’ workshops and webinars for postgraduate researchers. It will provide you with a framework for how you can support and empower your students and they develop their plan B.

Plan B introduces postgraduate researchers to methods that will help them identify key outcomes and objectives of their research and map out realistic and achievable alternative routes to achieving them

The focus is on how postgraduate researchers can re-plan activities that will achieve those intended outcomes and introduce them to problem-solving skills and flexible approaches that will help them adapt to change. Postgraduate researchers are introduced to a number of glucard(TM) brainstorming, planning, problem-solving and optioneering tools that they can refine, adapt and review for use throughout (and beyond) their PhD.

The workshop will be lead by Dr Sabina Strachan who will graphically illustrate concepts and demonstrate the tools by sharing live visualisations. She will make time for a breakout room session to enable small group/pair discussion about the challenges of the present context about how you would use the tools with postgraduate researchers to help them respond to those challenges.

Bookings will close at noon on 25 June.
