UK Research and Innovation Policy Internships Scheme deadline

Deadline: Thursday 10 September 2020

The 2020/21 call for the UKRI Policy Internships Scheme is now open. The Scheme provides the opportunity for doctoral students funded by the research councils of UK Research and Innovation to work for three months in one of a selected group of highly influential policy organisations. Students undertaking an internship through the Scheme will work on one or more policy topics relevant to both the student and their host organisation. You will be expected to produce at least one briefing paper, participate in a policy inquiry and/or organise a policy event, or equivalent piece of work.

If successful in your application, you will gain an extension to your ESRC award and most of the hosting organisations will provide support for travel and accommodation of up to £2,400 for the duration of the internship – where they do not, the Wales DTP will use its budgetary flexibility to support reasonable and evidenced expense of this kind, provided they are agreed in advance.

Full details of the internships available, and the application process, can be found on the UKRI website. As part of the application process, you should contact the Wales DTP no later than 3 September to discuss your application.
