Hannah Iqbal at the Future Leaders Summit – Video

Wales DTC student Hannah Iqbal represented the United Kingdom at the Future Leaders Summit last month. In conjunction with the NATO summit, this event was hosted by the Atlantic Council.

Hannah, whose PhD is based at the Cardiff School of Social Sciences, was chosen following a competitive application process and along with other young professionals, engaged in key discussions related to defence, security and humanitarian issues.

The summit heard from NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Deputy Prime Minister of the UK Nick Clegg and Supreme Allied Commander Transformation General Jean-Paul Palomeros, among other leaders.

Hannah was asked to join a panel alongside the NATO special representative on Women, Peace and Security, to speak about issues directly related to her research on the experiences of women and young people who have fled violence and conflict and now reside in the UK. The video of that panel discussion is below:
