This project seeks to assess the Efficiency and Productivity in the UK Water and Sewerage Industry.

One important aspect of the industry in recent years is its transition from being publicly-owned to being owned by private companies. So, one aim of this project is to evaluate whether this decision was worthwhile, from the point of view of company efficiency.

To measure how well, or poor, companies have done over time since privatisation, this project aims to incorporate a variety of Parametric and Non-Parametric empirical models, such as Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA), and Multi-dimensional Efficiency Analysis (MEA).

It is the intent of this project to observe whether the choice of privatisation, or non-profit privatisation, is an economic improvement for the industry, with the consequence of informing future policy decisions for the industry and those similar.
